Authentic stories from a courageous and honest US Army helo pilot veteran of the Vietnam war

Very authentic stories from the author about his experiences and those of his fellow aviators in the unit he served in. He relates the story as it comes to him as if you were sitting in an armchair having a conversation about old times. If you are looking for a novel that flows in a predictable manner...this is not it. You will come away with a great appreciation for the battles that were fought, both against an armed and tough enemy, and the difficulties encountered with poor leadership. This book is a very good one to have in your Vietnam aviation library.

this book is unreadable

awful. so poorly written. I love the Vietnam genre but this book was literally unreadable. If you want a well written first person account of a helicopter pilot in Vietnam, try Robert Mason's "Chickenhawk."
